Queen Square’s Mission Statement:

"We will strive to provide a high quality service to patients and the wider medical community, acknowledging the importance for everyone of maintaining a healthy work-life balance"

Traditional in our concern for high quality family medicine but innovative in the services which we provide.  Queen Square Medical Practice is a well-respected, independent practice within the city of Lancaster

We have our main site in the centre of Lancaster and a branch site in the village of Caton. Our Healthub site (in an adjacent building to Queen Square) offers specialist clinics in:

  • Gynaecology and Infertility (Tier 2 service)

  • Sexual Health

  • Travel (see www.healthub.org.uk )

  • Community Dermatology clinics

  • Morecambe Bay Respiratory Network partner

The GP team is supported by 2 Nurse Practitioners, a Pharmacist Practitioner practice pharmacist and a large team of nurses and HCAs.

We also have a team of research nurses led by Dr Moon.   Together they co-ordinate Primary Care research in the area.  The Practice has won awards for the quality of the Primary Care Research undertaken and has close links with the University of Lancaster.

We are an experienced teaching practice taking ST3 and FY2 doctors on placement, Dr John is our GP trainer within the practice.

We also look after patients from a local drug rehabilitation centre at Littledale Hall as well as students at Beaumont College, a further education college for disabled young people aged 18-25 years.

We have always encouraged career development and support the development of outside interests. We have a number of GPs with Specialist Interests within the practice and this has allowed us to provide our patients with specialised care within the community.

We have weekly clinical CPD meetings and all doctors have mentors.
